Draft @ Thirsty Moose. Served in a standard pint glass. Color is hazy amber with near no head to speak of. Very low carbonation. Nose is mostly citrus hops with a light pine aroma. Mild malt profile, pine bitterness shows with some slight rye coming through after the end sip. If I let the beer linger in my mouth and swallow slow, I pick out the rye much more. Good peppery, spicy rye as it gets near room temp. Medium bodied. Finish is mostly dry. Pretty well made.

~6 oz sampler at the Harpoon taproom in Boston Logan airport. The pour is mostly clear copper orange, with a small off white head. The aroma is light citrus hop, along with rye grain - nice interplay, though both aromas are pretty faint. The taste picks up on the spicy Rye, and then leads to resinous and the citrus orange fruit hop. Nice balance of flavors. The palate is medium bodied, low carbonation level, and a clean finish. Nice one.

bottle at Ft Wayne tasting - Pours hazy golden with an aroma of citrus and mild malt. The flavor has good bitterness overlaying rye. It’s medium bodied and ends with a dry, crisp, bitter finish. Good.

My amazing girlfriend picked up the first bottle being put on the shelves at Harpoon Brewery in Vermont. I had this before when it was the 100 Barrel Series. It was so popular, they made it into a 375ml bottle and started selling it beyond the specialty beer shops. Taken out of my fridge and poured into a Newcastle glass. Best by 7/15/12
A - Poured a 3-finger off-white head with a creamy appearance. The head subsided to a quarter finger pretty fast. The beer is a light golden brown with tons of very hazy / cloudy bits floating around. It looks like a solid dry hopped beer.
S - Yep, great hops right on the nose creating that classic pine and grapefruit scent with bits of orange peel. I’m getting very sweet hops and I’d like to say Centennial hops but I’m not quite sure. Very very fresh.
T - There’s a nice solid mix of rye and hops. The rye starts to dominate but the astringent hop profiles blast away at full force and cover the tongue with delightful bitterness. The rye finishes out the taste as you swallow. Very very good. There’s some roasted malts in this and a bit of nuttiness.
M - 80% bubbles on a single mouth swish that unleashes the great rye taste. Very very drinkable, medium-bodied and delicious rye taste that sticks around after swallowing. I’m a fan!
O - Yeah, I have to buy more of this. Delicious, drinkable and very nice as the weather starts warming up.

Bomber from Whole Foods Market Georgetown, DC, opened 6/15/11. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized frothy tan head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma of earthy and spicy hops with a bit of a rye finish. The taste is rye forward with earthy hops and a bit of a citrus hop touch. A good bit of toffeeish malt. Medium bodied. Solid brew.

Poured up on tap with clear deep gold body, copper hues and off white head. The aroma offers up some nice spicy rye notes as well as smooth sweet malts and a modest level of sort of vague hoppiness. The taste has fresh spicy rye moving around both here and there as well as some spicy hops, floral hops and citrus hops too. Overall it seems nice and spicy with rye and getting a bit resiny into the finish balanced by ample malts sweetness. Yummy one with a pleasing spicy rye presence.

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy caramel-apricot color with a large fluffy orange-white head. The aroma was sweet pineapple, grapefruit, pine and pepper. The flavor was tangy sour caramel with notes of spruce, pepper, pine, lemon and a bready undertone. The finish was medium length tangy, spicy and had lingering caramel, pine and spruce. Fairly full bodied. Solid.
