Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Stout with Geisha Coffee and Vanilla
Ohaguro is a bourbon barrel-aged imperial stout infused with exquisite Geisha coffee from Mostra Coffee and lavish Tahitian vanilla bean. After resting for 14 months in Cutwater bourbon barrels, it reveals enchanting notes of espresso, vanilla, and blueberry, layered over a smooth oaky base with a touch of bourbon warmth. The name Ohaguro is inspired by the ancient Japanese practice of teeth blackening, a symbol of beauty and refinement—much like the deep, inky elegance of this stout. Ohaguro is indulgent, complex, and utterly unforgettable.

Very dark. Chocolate and coconut aroma, nice and rich. A bit boozy but otherwise nice chocolate, good sugars. Some harshness from the alcohol.

dark caramelly dark chocolatey aromas dominate, caramelized stuff, chocolate cake, roasted malts can be sensed indirectly. beans like note. quite well blended together, hard to find the individual components of the aroma.from aroma i'd judge palate to velvety and body to very full.
pours dark brown, settles near black with a very smooth and very nice drk brown head.
palate is quite thick and smooth. thicker than normal.
flavor is absolutely outstanding. licorice, bourbon, salt licorice, dark chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, faint sweet caramel, well blended, comes off as soft and mild even though it's 13.7%. very sweet but it works fine with this sweetness because everything is already amped up, and it is so complex. the caramelly notes reminds me of toblerone.
could be the best BBA imp stout i ever tasted.
