Saphir is a German noble hop with a soft floral-citrus profile and an herbal backbone. Think tangerine zest, lemongrass, and wildflowers on a cloud of soft malt body from Maris Otter, malted oats, and torrified wheat. Cold-infused and super fragrant.
A refined and juicy sipper, balanced between elegance and freshness.

Can. Mildly hazy gold beer, good off white head that actually lasts for awhile. Light palate, a little dry, good fine minerally carbonation. Light smooth malts, a pretty modest sweetness, probably about right to showcase this hop. Saphir on it's Jack Jones, seldom seen. Light cooling pine, soft and very slightly floral. A mild tangy bitterness. Mellow bitterish citrus. Lemongrass is a claimed flavour, well maybe a tad and a bit thin. Floral bitterness on the light close. Very much a noble hop and fascinating to try in a single hop IPA. Actually, there is some light but juicy lemongrass on the close.

Can from Drankenhandel Leiden. Green tea hop with grass, herbal hop, malt. Not much in the way of fruitiness. Medium bitter with a somewhat dry finish, body is medium. Eh.
