This malt-forward dark lager was made the first time in 2024 with freshly picked Hallertau hops from The Checkerhead Brewing hop yard, water from the well along with malt and lager yeast sourced from Canadian Suppliers. It was a fun collaboration between David Aiken from Checkerhead Brewing and Iain Warren (aka The Nomadic Brewer). Don't let the dark colour fool you, this one's 100% Lager and 100% crushable! Hope to make it with fresh hops every year!

Dark brown with red accents. The aroma is quite grainy, with some phenols coming out as it warms. While the phenols still annoy me on the palate, there's certainly a good toasty malt note to it.
