Zesty modern British pale ale, brewed with British malt and hopped with Dragon (flame) and Jester (folly) to bring lively notes of blackcurrant, citrus, and a touch of floral spice. A refreshing take on tradition.

The word Folly I first associated with Rockliffe's Folly - the slightly lame spin-off to the decent police drama Rockliffe's Babies. This Folly has no flame and is a little lame too. Easy strength with hints of fruit, which is less than appealing, it's very bland in its hoppiness.

At last – a Tay Brew beer that somebody has rated before ! Cask at Hops, Crewe. Pours yellow gold with a medium sized frothy almost white head. There’s biscuits, oranges and a hint of chocolate in the aroma. In the mouth it is slightly bitter with a creamy texture and flavours of floral hops, oranges and mango. Later on a little sharpness can be detected plus hints of herbs and pith. Finish is slightly dry. This is reasonable – though a nit bland.

9/10/2025. Cask at the 2025 Nottingham Robin Hood Beer Festival. Decent pour. Nice floral, citrusy, orange aroma. Touch herbal, gooseberry, hedgerow. A little sweet. Quite nice.
