Bourbon Barrel-Aged Imperial Mole Stout
Our third iteration of this bourbon barrel-aged Mexican Mole stout is here—now crafted without lactose so everyone can enjoy. Aged since summer 2022 in a blend of Buffalo Trace, Four Roses, Heaven Hill, and George Dickel barrels, Leche Reserva delivers a full-bodied experience packed with complexity.
Built on layers of dark chocolate, dried fruit, and warming spice, this year’s blend features a custom chili mix of Ancho, Guajillo, and lightly smoked Chipotle peppers, alongside Ceylon cinnamon, Filipino cacao nibs, and Madagascar vanilla. The result is a smooth, smoky, subtly sweet stout with a soft heat and a waffle cone finish.

500mL bottle, pours motor oil black with a small tan head. Nose brings out big chipotle pepper, big cocoa nibs, big bourbon barrels, and a touch of vanilla. Flavour is really rich and surprisingly less sweet, with big smoky chipotle and other such peppers, vanilla, deep dark cocoa, and big boozy bourbon barrels rounding this out. Wonderful pepper mix, fairly low sweetness relative to Bottle Logic’s standards. Excellent.

Poured from 500mL bottle. Very dark brown with minimal beige head. Lots of dark chocolate with a subtle chillis and cinnamon underlay, touch of bourbon and vanilla in the background, very nice.

500mL bottle. Pours nearly black with a small tan head. Plenty of chipotle, chocolate and a little bit of cinnamon on the nose. Flavour has a really nice, smoky pepper character, dark chocolate, a touch of cinnamon, and a great bourbon character rounding it out. Big kick of heat on the finish, some boozy heat as well. Nice base, the pastry aspect is pretty well reigned in. Fantastic.

Bottle at home. Pours black, nose is chocolate, vanilla, coconut, chilli spice, taste is sweet, juicy berries, fruity, vanilla, chocolate, smoky, spicy chilli. 8/8/9=8/8

Very dark brown. No head. Rich and boozy, big chocolate and the chiles are cascabel, chipotle. Fat malt tang. Cinnamon and chile come in late.
