The Known Unknown is our three grain altbier mashed with pilsner, rye, and caramel malts as well as flaked spelt. Our altbier was hopped with Hersbrucker and Spalt Select. Open-fermented cool with our house kölsch strain.

Dark amber, thin head. Toasty, a bit of sourness detracts but there is some decent malt complexity.

On tap at Bizarre, pours a deep dark amber brown with a small beige head. Aroma has dry bready malt, maybe a touch of dry toffee. Flavour is heavily malty, with caramel malt, bready notes, and a syrupy palate that, to me, excludes it from being a proper alt. Not working for me.

On tap at Bizarre. Pours murky brown with a beige head. Sticky, bready malts on the nose. Flavour has bready malts, a bit attenuated. A bit of a non-event.
