There is sauerkraut in my lederhosen. I repeat: There is sauerkraut in my lederhosen! Which is exactly the way it should be when drinking a Oktoberfest-style Märzen, brewed with 100% imported German ingredients. Bring the bierhaus to your haus with this award-winning, ubër popular seasonal beer that delivers a blitzkrieg of rich malt and caramel sweetness. Pairs perfectly with traditional festival favorites, like Bauernseufzer, roasted pig knuckle, and Bavarian soft pretzels that are larger than your head. Oans, zwoa, g’suffa!

Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a clear medium amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is toffee treacle caramel. The flavour is medium bitter light sweet with a malt hoppy slightly metallic buttery yeast palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. I think I liked this more than other raters.

Flyind Dog should stick to the American styles they are so great at. This German style beer is not their specialty, it’s a bit boring.

355ml bottle at home. Pours clear mid-amber with a big white head. Lots of caramel aromas, some dried fruit. Taste has more caramel sweetness then a hint of hop bitterness. Creamy texture, slightly sticky finish. Nice.

Copper colour. Aroma has some sweet caramel and malt. Flavour has a strong malty presence, a bit toasted. Sweet caramel finish with just a touch of bitter dryness coming in late in the aftertaste. I find this too sweet be a sessionable drink.

[10/11/13] Draught at Beer Temple in Amsterdam. Clear amber. Aroma of graininess, malt, caramel, fruity notes and a vegetal note. Sweetish malty flavor, a bit caramelly, with light toastiness and a light vegetal note. Finishes drier. Light to medium-bodied. OK.

355ml bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - mid amber, some head. Nose - caramel, perhaps some cake mixture or even raisins. Taste - more of the caramel and then a fresh citrus finish. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a very refreshing finish. Overall - very balanced.
