Tasting at Matt’s
Cloudy, dark amber to brown color. The aroma is very woody, a bit sour, fruity, berries, old house. The sourness is very strong, the flavor lost much of the malt, it enhanced the lemony character, and it ends with some woody character. Too much vinegar.
Ephemeral.

12 oz. bottle, pours a dark mahogany with a small beige head. Aroma is weird, with notes of ginger, lime, rum barrels, and oak -- sourness is pretty pronounced. Flavour is certainly unusual, with ginger and lime upfront, mixed with intensely soured dark fruits and oak. Decent balance to this, but I'm not a fan of the flavours. Not bad, but not overly enjoyable.

Bottle @ hotel with bnielsen13 during Justin’s wedding weekend. Pours a reddish brown appearance with a light brown head. Vanilla, red wine, grapes, plums, and apples in the nose. Moderate sourness. Lots of vanilla and coconut. Medium body. Caramel, toasted malty, coconut flavor. Kind of fun.

Bottle thanks to Tom. Pours a dark copper with small off white that lasts. The aroma is strong ginger, lime, oak. Thin mouthfeel with strong ginger, acidic from lime, tart, really enjoyed this one.

Pours a slightly hazy dark brown with ruby highlights and a quickly disappearing bubbly off white head. Aromas of molasses, dark sugars and rum with hints of ginger, earth, coconut, and a touch of funk. The flavor is a bit more lactic tart than the aroma suggested. Lemons, limes, and sour cherry tartness mixed with hints of rum molasses and spice. Light earthy funkiness with a lingering tart pucker in the finish. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation. I’m not a huge fan of what the ginger adds here. It almost makes this feel like it was aged with spiced rum which I’m not a big fan of.
