Flaska från SB. 2015 vintage. Mörkt bärnstensfärgad, klar, lågt skum. En djup fin söt doft av torkad frukt, dadlar, fikon, russin, päron, vitt dessertvin. Välbalanserad med väl dold alkohol om än med lite värme, nästan lite platt, men med det sagt fina smaker av torkad frukt, russin, honung, marsipan och sött vin. Kanske lite saftig. Riktigt trevlig någonstans mellan en abt och en barley wine.

Bottled:

Nose: Malt, toffee, brown sugar, fresh paint.
Mouth: A bit on the thin side.
Tongue: Ripe fruit, malt, toffee, brown sugar, almonds, alkohol, a little bit of plastic.
Brain: Pretty good, but will probably improve with age.
Eyes: Deep red brown with a small head.
Nose: Malt, toffee, brown sugar, fresh paint.
Mouth: A bit on the thin side.

(Bottle, 0.33 l - BB 20.01.2025, at Gallows Bird, 20160116) The beer poured deep dark brown and clear. Its head was small and white. Aroma had malts, caramel, plum and sweetness. Palate was medium bodied and warming with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, caramel, plum, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was sweet, malty and bitter. A decent quad. Currently a bit harsh but aging may help.

Bottled, from Systembolaget. Murky dark brown, minimal head. Aroma of orange and brown sugar. Sweet with full body and clean, rounded mouthfeel - low carbonation. Marzipan, grain and caramel, notes of licorice and coffee. Mildly warming finish with low bitterness.

Bottle shared thanks to trade with linusb. Very unclear darkish brown with no head. Aroma of herbs, caramel, wort, toffee, light overripe dark fruit and malt. Flavour is over moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium bodied with near flat carbonation.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a cloudy, reddish amber with a tiny, off-white head. Nose has Belgian esters, loads of alcohol and overripe fruit. Rich body, very low in carbonation, slightly moldy, overripe fruit and a whiff of yeast. Warming alcohol finish. A very rustic and non-sophisticated Quad, but somehow it works. 221215
