Sample at RBSG PGH 2016. Clear brown color. Aroma of earthy cocoa. Taste is earthy cocoa powder. Light body.

Reddish brown. No head from a Crowler. Smells like a roasted licorice with chocolate. No carb and dense mouthfeel. More sweet than I expected. Chocolate and wood along with smoke.

Crowler. Pours a very dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is cocoa and roast. Similar flavors to nose, light dry finish, good.

Crowler - Hoppy roast with lots of toast. Clear jet brown with a small beige head. Roast and toasty notes.

Sampled on draft at the brewpub this beer poured a black color with a medium sized foamy beige head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was dryish and roasty with note of brewed coffee and wood. The flavor was bitter and roasty with sour malts, smoke, floral hops, a bit of coffee and vanilla. Moderately full bodied. Not my style.
