A play on a traditional India Pale Ale, the mash for Leghorn includes three different types of rye. The rye imparts a spicy malt profile that balances the five separate hop additions. Bittered with Columbus hops and dry-hopped with Liberty, the deep hop flavor and delicate, floral boquet creates a complex, yet refreshing brew.

Keg at the brewery tap. Pours clear honey-gold with a creamy topping. The nose has lightly toasted pale malts, ripening orange. Medium sweet flavour with mellow grainy bread, subtle marmalade and general lightly jammy citrus fruits, light bitter hay, pine. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Finishes with a little hop resin, more ripe citrus, mild white grape, melon. Pretty good IPA overall.

Keg at the Broadway Brewhouse, Nashville, 15/02/15. Clear golden amber with a decent off white covering. Nose is light hops, caramel, grassy, citric peel, bread dough, melon. Taste comprises caramel, grassy notes, lemon rind, bitter orange, bready notes. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with earthy hop bitterness. Ok I suppose.
