Fresh Hop IPA
Picked at dawn, Centennial fresh hop cones from Myrtle Meadows Hop Farm pulsed straight from the Pemberton Valley into our Green Room before the morning’s dew even had time to dry. A base of Pilsner and Wheat malts sets the stage as Mosaic, Simcoe, and a touch of Columbus shine with bright citrus, ripe berries, and pine, finishing in a rush of raw green hop energy

Slight haze, thick head, somewhat oniony character, light biscuit note, lowish bitterness, maybe not my favourite hop character.

473mL can, pours a clear pale golden with a small white head. Aroma has some diacetyl unfortunately, along with piney hops, and citrus. Flavour does indeed have the diacetyl that totally ruins this for me; whatever nice qualities it has—dry piney hops, citrusy bitterness—is ruined by the butter. Sad… since Coast Mountain has been killing it lately with the west coast IPAs.
