hazy orange. The aroma is nice. port barrel and a very sweet belgian dubbel. decent carb, thins out quickly. oak and char comes through but port is barely present aside from the sweetness. it’s still a lot of complexity and a little oxidation. overall, would have liked to try this one fresh.

Bottle at RSBG Grand Tasting 2016. Stronger, almost barley wine in effect. Whisky attributes, so not too sure about the port. Difficult at times. Needs some manners. I prefer the straight away gran met. This wave of barrle things lately to change the way beer tastes is riddy. Big thanks to Art for a chance to taste this brew!

Bottle at RSBG Grand Tasting. Pours a cloudy orange with small white head that lasts. The aroma is booze, wood, yeast. Medium body, citrus, yeast, booze, odd.

From the March 2014 3R6P tasting. +++ Sampled from a 750 ml brown bottle this beer poured a cloudy orange-amber color with a small foamy white head that faded quickly and left no lacing. The aroma was tangy port wine, apple, sugar and bread. The flavor was tangy red wine, apple juice, sugar, tart apple and slightly off bread dough. Medium length finish of bread dough, sugar, apple and red wine. Moderately full bodied. Somewhat disappointing.
