16oz can pours a lovely transparent garnet amber with some white head. Nose has C hops and pine, malt and fall fruits, chewy grains. Flavor is quite malty, chewy grain and some caramel, avoids being sweet, pine and soap and citrus rind. Dry finish. Bitter. Full bodied.

Draft at the source. Clear bright reddish amber color. Huge pine and caramel aroma. Taste is bittersweet toasted caramel. Nice.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a clear copper with small off white head that lasts. The aroma is citrus and caramel. Medium body, caramel, spice, pine, light bitterness, good.

Look, if you like IPA, you gotta taste this. It is terribly on IPA (not amber, heheh) style. On tap at the bocktown, nice place. Very hoppy aroma, as a matter of fact it has that contemporary ipa girlfriend BO about it. First taste is that of course, a big IPA kick in the head. Up your nose with a rubber hose, fer sure. Never could appreciate the IPA style. If you ask me, and you don’t have to, this is an IPA all the way, not a fricken amber ale as stated here. Theeeer, you have it, a terribly on style IPA but not a black IPA, just a darker amber IPA.

Sampled on draft at Piper’s Pub this beer poured a brown color with orange highlights and a medium sized fluffy orange-tan head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was bitter, tart and tangy with lemon, strong grapefruit and tropical fruits. The flavor was tart and tangy with strong grapefruit, lemon, tropical fruit, caramel, crystal malt and a hint of tobacco. Very long finish. Medium body. Outstanding.
