This German Style Hefeweizen is a throwback in homage of Cambridge’s most lasting nickname. Golden-yellow and hazy in appearance, this brew is a combination of American and German ingredients. Complex yet subtle, a faint sweetness immediately hits your palate followed by a distinctive wheat note. Notes of banana and clove are detected on the finish.

Aroma of malt. Taste has typical oily items, some smokiness. Palate has lingering smoked notes, some hoppy oils, some of the same zesty spice elements typically seen in a hefe.

Draft at Lost & Found. Closest I’ve come to a German here (other than Live Oak), near perfect all around except for the pour. Wonderful consistency and feel, basic essences of banana and clove are present. Just need a half liter pour in a weizen glass to be sure.

Canned on 12.06.16. Just slightly hazy, big head. This is a grainy, less estry version of a hefe. It’s dry grain with dry banana toast. Not burnt just dry banana. Flavor is mineral, overly clean banana mineral. Ehh, I’m just so not into this beer.
