Our new High Society barelywine aged for 4 months in freshly-emptied oak P.X. sherry butts. Massively rich and chewy on the palate, with toast, toffee and caramel notes layered atop flavors of cocoa, spices, vanilla and coffee.

A spectacular English BW. The nose gives you a hint of what is to come - very fresh tastes of sherry, toffee, spice and roasted malt predominate. The taste has more of the same with added elements. Toasted malt, dark toffee, sherry, a touch of slightly bitter coffee, vanilla and toasted bread work well together. The toffee taste keeps growing through the taste experience, balanced by a slight sourness. Dense and warming, sweet but not cloying - a real gem by Bluejacket.

Draft at the brewery. Poured a very dark, ruby, amber color. Head was small and off-white. Aroma was sweet malts, boozy, vanilla, toffee and some sherry notes. Flavor was dark fruit notes, heavy caramel and a touch of soy. Drinkable, but the alcohol is not as well masked as the bourbon version I had of this one.
