Pours clear gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving spider lacing. Tropical fruit and resin aromas. Thick with dry, sweet hot caramel and pepper upfront turning to dank resin before the medium length pith finish.

Can from Bert’s Slightly hazy deep yellow with a frothy white head that shows fair retention. Melons pine citrus resin rule the nose. Faint bready sweet maltiness. More pine spice and resin than fruit in the flavor with a faint malt backbone. Moderate level of hop bitterness with a touch of alcohol warming and flavor. Not too shabby.

Glad to resample this. Didn’t take notes on my draft pour. In my hand right now is a 16 oz can that I purchased at Spruce Creek Provisions, Kittery. Canned three days ago, super fresh! Slightly hazy golden color. Aroma is bright grapefruit and pink grapefruit citrus with a mild yeast and rounded out by mild pale malts.

Malt bill is honey and pale malts that give a medium body with just enough sweetness to balance this huge hop profile. Bright citrus with a lasting pine bitterness. I wouldn’t say the alcohol is hidden but it isn’t distracting from the overall flavor. Bitterness really slaps you as it warms. The mouthfeel is pretty nice as well. Well constructed brew.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Portland, ME. Why can’t Portland just be Portland, and those other schmucks be Portland, OR? Anyway, hazy pale golden, large foamy tan head, decent retention. Aroma of pale malt, lime, tropical fruits. The taste is tropical fruit, lime, pale malt. Medium bodied, juicy. Nice beer. This brewery is doing some things right.

Fresh 4 pack drunk September-October 2015.
Large off-white head is bottle conditioned and well-retained atop a lightly hazy deep golden-amber body.
Plentiful fruity hops with light conifer accents, sweet bread dough, fresh, clean yeast and light biscuit malts. No alcohol noted, with some light perfuminess keeping it very heady. Pretty diverse aroma profile overall, not a citrus or pine bomb, which is always appreciated.
Medium malts add some sourdough and lots of breadiness in the flavor, as dry pineapple and mango provide much of the hop flavor. Growing tangerine/red grapefruit are interspersed and light honey and a touch of caramel provide continued balance on the finish. Very tight, natural carbonation produces a creamy mouthfeel. Not quite as soft/supply malted as, say, Trillium and Hill Farmstead, but still nothing to turn your nose up at.

On tap at Novare Res, Portland, Maine. A clear, dark golden beer with a dense off-white head leaving some lacing. It’s rather hoppy on the nose, pine cones, grapefruit and some citrus zest. Low on malts, both in aroma and flavor. Grapefruit, pine cones, citrus zest and a good bitterness in the flavor. Full body and a nice carbonation level. Lasting hop forward finish. Sure a nice one. 150609

Draught @ Novare Res Bier Café, Portland, ME
Pours hazy deep golden with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, citrus, grape, orange, peach and alcohol. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter with a long slightly warm, orange, citrus and peach finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
