Someone call George Clinton because the Funk is about to arrive. DuClaw’s latest creation, Funk, is a blueberry citrus wheat ale that screams summer with an almost shandy-like crispness and flavor. This brew features Meyer lemons and blueberries as well as Cascade and Columbus hops. Look for this beer on shelves starting next Friday.

Bottle. Blueberry syrup and light malt aroma. Hazy golden yellow with small head. Mildly sweet blueberry, light toffee malt, and very lightly bitter straw flavor. Body on the light side. Has a very nice blueberry aroma and flavor - pleasant fruit beer.

Bottle: Hazy, light orange with a small white head. Blueberry, grain malt scent. Wheat malt, juicy blueberry taste. Not too tart, not too sweet.... Pretty nice, understated blueberry notes. Light, mild and flavourful. A nice one.

This beer pours a cloudy amber color with a medium of-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of berries, citrus and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of mildly tart berries, pithy citrus and doughy malt. The finish is fruity with a blueberry aftertaste. Decent overall.

Crisp, clear golden coloured body with a copper glow and a touch of peach, along with a small, single centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of peaches, blackberries, yeast, malt, alcohol, lemons and way too many blueberries - nice! Light-bodied; Assertive fruit flavour with a touch of a bitterness from malt and an overtone from metal/cardboard with a light sweetness, but not much int he way of malt backbone or hops. Aftertaste shows the fruity sweetness, but a touch too watery and with no real complexity aside from the fruits. Overall, a decent beer, but a bit light on flavour profile and complexity - still not a bad beer to sample. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 17-May-2015 for US$8,49/six pack, sampled at home in Washington on 12-June-2015.

pale yellah, thin head. slightly sweet aroma. at first I thought this would be a funk beer, you know, sour. well, its more of a fruit beer that is just a tad more tart and sweet than most. culminates in an almost acceptable fruity thing happening here. decent co2 thru to the end.

12oz bottle pours a clear gold with a ring of white head. Nose has a lot of blueberry muffin, some lemon, lots of freeze dried blueberries, cheap wine. Flavor has a ton of blueberry extract, very muffiny, vanilla too, lemon, mild spice, some honey. Fruity finish. All in all, not terrible.
