Tap at The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours hazy/translucent gold with a white head. Moderate lime aroma. Med body at least. Lime is fairly strong, and even suggests kaffir lime leaf. Moderate trailing salt. Well, maybe a bit more than moderate. I’m thinking most of the foregoing ratings are a bit under. Rated. This stuff is sort of a two note wonder. Lime and salt. Pretty dry. Can’t tell if it’s bitter, or just lime. A real wake up call. Very refreshing.

Draft. Straw beer with an off-white head. Lime and tart aroma. Light salt and lime flavor with tartness. Medium bodied. Tartness and lime lingers with light salt.

Poured from a can. Aroma is very lime forward with a strong juiciness. Some light coriander and wheat notes. Light acidity with a touch of yogurt. Pours a pale, hazy, gold color with a medium sized, thin, white head that recedes fairly quickly and disappears. No lacing or legs. Flavor is fairly acidic, but it’s not too sharp. Moderately strong lime notes with some lighter coriander. Medium salt notes. No bitterness. A touch of a yogurt note with some light wheat. More lime and salt as it warms. Mouthfeel is medium light bodied with medium carbonation. Low astringency and low alcohol warmth. Overall, an alright gose but like the Hoof Hearted one I think this may be under carved and a bit too big in the body. The lime is very strong, especially in the aroma. Between the line and the salt this comes across more like a margarita.

The beer is yellow with some tan and a hint of orange to it. It’s very cloudy, opaquely so. The head is small, fizzy and white. The aroma has a really nice lime flavor. It’s juicy with a mix of sweet and sour fruit. Definitely key lime. Unfortunately, there’s also a flabby butter note in there. The lime hides most of it, but it’s always unfortunate in an otherwise refreshing beer. Some brine. Mild spice. The taste is mildly tart, less than expected/hoped for. There’s less lime flavor in the taste than I had expected from the aroma. A good bit of salt, a little surprising. Solid wheat base to it. A little bit more spice. Medium-light body. A bit fizzy. It’s just not quite as refreshing as it could be. Not bad but not great.
