Hobneelch’n Hoppy Wheat is light & sessionable with low bitterness and lots of hop aroma and flavor. The hops are Citra and Simcoe, so the aroma is big citrus, pine, and fruit. A mild wheat/biscuit malt finish on the end.

On tap at Hop Cat Lexington. Clear golden with small/medium white head. Aroma is herbal hops, medium body, medium carbonation, and pretty god small-bubble lacing. Taste is herbal hops and bitter finish.

22 ounce bottle into pint glass; no bottle dating, but is a recent release. Pours slightly hazy/cloudy bright golden yellow color with a 2 finger dense and rocky white head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings down the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of lemon zest, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, orange peel, pine, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity or bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate pale malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big lemon zest, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, orange peel, pine, wheat, cracker, bread, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Light-moderate pine/grassy bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of lemon zest, tangerine, pineapple, peach, mango, orange peel, pine, wheat, cracker, bread, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Damn nice complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; with a great malt/bitterness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Moderate dryness from bitterness and lighter mouthfeel. Medium carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, crisp, fairly sticky, and slightly creamy/bready balanced mouthful that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with zero warming present after the finish as expected of 5%. Overall this is a damn nice hoppy pale wheat ale style. All around great complexity, robustness, and balance of bright citrus/tropical/pine hops and light-moderate pale malt flavors; and very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink. A very enjoyable offering.

Bomber from Bottle Barn. Pours translucent gold with a white head. Aroma is spicy/fruity with very light malt. Med body at least. Flavor is hop forward; citrus/fruit. Very hoppy. Backbone is barely discernible. Light ABV, heavy hop. What more can one ask?
