Hobneelch’n Hoppy Wheat is light & sessionable with low bitterness and lots of hop aroma and flavor. The hops are Citra and Simcoe, so the aroma is big citrus, pine, and fruit. A mild wheat/biscuit malt finish on the end.

22oz bomber pours with a clear near pale gold body that supports a dirty white head of foam. The aroma offers up some tart citrusy lemon lime notes as well as wheated malts and floral hops. The taste delivers a somewhat smooth palate where bitter notes of floral and lime nuanced grapefruit hops are delivered. Under the hops is a modest degree of kind of wheat like maltiness. Decent. Overall it seems a bit too tart.

Bottle to pint glass. Sweet wheat and tropical fruit aromas do not really combine well. Hazy light gold looks a little dirty. Full white head that is pristine and lingers well. Taste is orange with a slightly bitter spike at the end.

On tap hazy dingy straw color with a thin but lasting soapy white head. Light bready malt flavors. Some sweet citrusy hops and a clean finish. A little IBU bite at the end. Hoppy wheat indeed.

12oz glass at Big Hunt DC, could have been on nitro, pours a hazy dark gold with some creamy, lacing white head. Nose is mild but inviting, light tropical fruit, light spice, some bubblegum, some mild citrus, some straw. Flavor has a chewed bubblegum thing, mild spice, some citrus, some guava, straw, light cake icing. Finishes creamy.

Bottle from Boise Co-op. Looks and smells like an American wheat ale. Soft creamy white head. Taste is where you notice the hops and finishes crisp like a good German Pils. This is where the "hoppy" comes in, so not like an IPA, but just a nice snap at the finish that lingers for a while. Nice.
