Manchmal da „bassts“ einfach – über alle Grenzen hinaus. Das haben sich auch die Braumeister Roland Kundmüller und Matt Cole (Fat Head’s Brewery) aus Cleveland/Ohio gedacht und beschlossen, gemeinsam ein fränkisch-amerikanisches Bier zu brauen. Eines, das reinhaut. Eines, das die Mundwinkel nach oben zieht!
Im Geruch zeigt der Hopfen schonmal schön was er kann: Grapefruit, Maracuja, Pinie - Aromen, die sich auch am Gaumen fortsetzen und von karamelligen Noten ergänzt werden. Überraschend schlank für eine Bierspezialität mit 9 Prozent Alkohol überzeugt das Weiherer / Fat Head’s Imperial IPA mit sanfter Kohlensäure und harmonisch kräftiger Bittere.

0,5 l bottle shared with Kristall-König. Little unclear and copper in the glass. Taste starts hopy, malty, fruity in the second row. Toasted malty. Hidden alcohol but warming. Long lasting pleasant mid bitterness. Not bad.

50 cl bottle. Pours hazy orange with a small off white head. Aroma is herbal, pine and grapefruit. Sweet and solid hoppy. Dry. Oily andsolid hoppy. Bitter and slight herbal finish.

7 3 7 3 15 Bottle shared at Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering ’17. Near clear dark golden with a white head. Aroma of dank hops, herbal hops, weedy notes and cheesy malt. Flavour is above moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Bottle, TTOD(U)RBSG17. Clear amber, white froth. Piney, caramely aroma. Strong, piney bitterness, somewhat fruity with a little caramel to balance. Long, slightly rough bitter finish. Good.

Bottle @ Danish Ratebeer Summer Gathering. Nice head with good duration. Color is golden. Aroma and taste are rich bitter hops, fruits, flowers, malt and has a long lovely bitter finish.

Bottle @ Fonefan Summer Gathering. Hazy orange with an off-white head. Aroma is sweet, malty, caramel, fruity and moderate hoppy - fruity. Flavor is quite sweet and very bitter. Dry and very bitter finish. 180817

Clear orange beer, big creamy irregular yellowish head, pretty stable, adhesive, leaving some lacing in the glass. Aroma: lovely fruity smell, passion fruit, grapefruit, orange peel, nice hoppy smell, mango, smells very promising! MF: soft carbon, medium to full body. Taste: pretty malty, unpleasant bitterness, bit resinous, grains, cow fodder. Aftertaste: very malty, bit dank, sweet, some tropical fruits, bit hoppy, citrus, very bitter, cheesy touch, metallic finish. Not a fan. What started out so promising from the smell, failed to deliver.

Draught @ Stone Berlin. Pours dark orange with a large foamy head. Aroma of caramely malts, pine, grass, herbal hops, fruits and resin. Taste is sweetish, bitter and hoppy with some herbal notes, pine and resin. Finish is bitter, grassy, sweetish caramely malty with some pine and resin. Okay.

Clear medium to dark amber orange colour with a large, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, sweet malt, fruity malt, moderate to heavy hoppy, orange, dried fruit. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, fruity hops, dried fruit, sweet malt, orange, sweet hops. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.
