Brunswick was once known as "Berlin" until 1832 when it was renamed "Barry" to avoid confusion with Worchester, Maryland's town, also named Berlin. This medium color brown ale is smooth with sweet hints of caramel.

12oz can pours a translucent ruby amber with some sticky, beige head. Nose has butterscotch and malt and some sweet tea, nuts. Flavor is chewy with malt and butterscotch, marzipan, bread crust. Finishes off dry, medium bodied. Good.

Can from Total Wine. Deep brown in colour, with a thin, off-white, head. Aroma of brown sugar and some leafy hops. Flavour had ripe, bready malts, a hint of red berries, slight toastiness and a gentle finish. A decent brown ale.

$2.99 can, Total Wine, Gainesville. Clear brown pour with a small off-white head. Aroma is honey, roasted caramel malt, nuts. Flavor is very similar: light honey, light caramel, roasted nuts, brown lead and grass. Finishes dry.
