A Big Boozy Blonde was brewed with a boatload of oats, giving it a creamy sweet mouthfeel with a hoppy blast. It’s like a powdered sugar donut topped with deliciously dank resinous hops. Chow down!

Growler fill from boise CoOp. Pours out a crazy thick golden wow so thick topped with a sand head. nose is great nice crisp hop heavy caramel sweetness. Taste is amazing rich malts caramel pine citrus and some melon. This is very nice and I can’t get over how thick it is.

22 oz bottle from Hoboken Vine, 1/10/16. It pours an unclear darker orange-amber color. Off-white head leaves and almost completely sheeting lace on the glass, some of the strongest lacework I've seen. The top portion of the glass where the beer is absent is almost completely covered. Aroma-wise it is strongly pine and resin hops. Very dank. Flavor-wise I get something other than dankness (though not much more). Oats? Sure, I guess, but really this one is all about the resiny hops. Mildly sweet up front into a bitter middle and an even more bitter close. This is a really good beer. Smooth, creamy, and just really nice overall. I'm in a terrible mood due to football, but even that can't make me deny how great this beer is. Absolutely my favorite beer of the year so far, and we are a whole 10 days in!

22 oz. bottle. It pours a very clear deep orange color with a medium off white head. The aroma has the typical stone fruitiness that you get from Lagunitas. Some peach, orange, alcohol, juicy fruit gum and hints of dank. The flavor is extremely bitter and alcoholic. Lots of dank, herbal and piney bitterness with some honey, orange and peach. A little spicy hops toward the finish along with alcohol heat that hits you immediately. The body is very thick and syrupy which makes this difficult to drink especially with the heavy bitterness. Hints of phenols and glue in the aftertaste. A rare miss from Lagunitas.

Bomber from Whole Foods in Davis, CA. Pours golden orange with a creamy off-white head. Nose is perilously near to dank. Med ++ body. Flavor is dank. Dank, I say. I think I can actually taste oat. It’s not strong, but it’s there - like sucking on a dry stalk - tho I haven’t done that for years - but that’s my brain’s response (disclaimer on the brain). With time the dank melts away and there’s a very pleasant citrus taste. Til the next quaff. It finishes dry and quite bitter. Liking it a lot. Maybe it’s not as dry as I thought. Or maybe it is. Nope. As the hop attenuates it has some sweetness. But it’s deer in the headlights, hop-wise. Stunning.
