Bottle shared at a tasting at Dancing Camel. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Big cold-brewed coffee aroma. Roasty bittersweetish coffee flavor. Medium-bodied. Very nice.

Pour is a complete black with a large tan head. Aroma is a roasted malt with a bit of cocoa and coffee. Not a huge coffee presence but just enough to let you know it is there. Flavor is about the same. Coffee to start out then comes a decent roasted nut with some roast malt to give this some body. Not a huge coffee presence but just enough to get the job done.

12 ounce bottle. Opaque black color. Thick creamy tan head. Roasted malt nose is full of coffee and cocoa notes. Roasted malt flavor has obvious coffee notes, smooth and creamy. Some smokiness and sweetness. Slightly chewy and sticky. As coffee porters go, this is smooth and creamy, with nice balance and flavor.

Bottle. It pours a very dark brown color with a brown head. Looks dense. The aroma is rich with equal notes chocolate and coffee with some sweeter notes of caramel/toffee and a hint of vanilla. The flavor is sweet and coffee forward with hints of chocolate, toffee, tobacco ash. Good roasted, caramel malt balance with great coffee character. The body is pretty full due to the malt complexity, but the carbonation is just a tad high and prickly killing the smoothness that I like from the best examples of the style. Still very good overall.

Draft pour at World of Beer, Reston Town Center. Poured a very dark brown, almost black color with a creamy tan-grey colored head. Aroma was nice fresh pressed coffee, espresso. Lots of creamy espresso notes, creamy roasted notes. Wow, very drinkable.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a black color with a large foamy brown head that left decent lacing. The aroma was espresso, chocolate and vanilla. The flavor was espresso, vanilla, chocolate, toasty malts and hints of coconut and dark fruit. Long finish. Moderately full bodied. Quite pleasant.

12 oz bottle courtesy of a friend, poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Thanks Ben! Black with a finger of tan head. Aromas of strong roasted coffee, dark chocolate, a little caramel and cream. Tastes of coffee, dark chocolate. Medium body with a dry finish. Not a whole lot to this one but pretty tasty.
