A complexly-malted, rich & roasty porter hopped with Galena, Columbus & Centennial hops, then open fermented with English yeast. Notes of toasted dark bread, subtle fruit, cocoa & herbal hops shine throughout.

Sampled at the brewpub pours a fairly dark brown, black with some cloudy, lacing head. Nose is not great, some sourness/cold smokiness, some dried cherry, the malt is there. Flavor is chalky and astringent and not great. herbs, some cocoa powder. Astringent finish and a little tannic.

Draft at the source. Opaque brown color, small beige head. Aroma of roasty coffee grounds. Taste is earthy coffee, light cocoa, subtle dark fruit. Very drinkable.
