This past summer, Bloodshot joined forces with Evanston, IL distillery Few Spirits to release a small batch bourbon whiskey. After we bottled and peddled 500 bottles to the masses, our longtime drinkin’ buddies at Lagunitas took the bourbon barrels and concocted the “Bloodshot Few Brew.” Brewed at Lagunitas’s Chicago brewery, the beer is composed of Lagunitas Imperial Stout aged in the exact barrels from which the Bloodshot/Few Spirits bourbon was derived. The brewers added some smoked tea tips resulting in a smoky, tobacco-y, dark chocolate-y aroma with slight bourbon-like notes. The release is part of Lagunitas’s OneHitter series and will only be available on draft in select bars and music venues. It’s tapped in Chicago, as well as additional American cities to be announced.
The beer weights in at a whopping 13% ABV, so pull up your britches, tie your shoes, and be careful.

Draft at GBD. Sloppy seconds after Donnie, apparently. Jet black, thin brown head. Aroma has vanilla, chocolate, booze, light smoke. Taste is big, boozy chocolate, coffee, whiskey. Not getting much of the tea. Too boozy for me, but a neat idea.

4 oz pour on draft at GBD. Black with thin tan ring. Aromas of tobacco, tea, light smoke. Tastes of dark chocolate, whiskey, light tea, roasty notes, light soy sauce. Medium-full body with a dry finish. Interesting flavors, don’t think I could drink a full glass of this though.
