The prominent, elegant acidity of the gooseberry is showcased in Schramm's Patience. On the nose, fresh ripe citrus, kiwi, pineapple and beeswax come together with the more subtle floral notes of orange blossom honey. On the palate, flavors of yellow fruit compote balance the gooseberry's pronounced tartness with lingering pineapple, grape and Shiro plum.

375 ml bottle. pours sort of brownish-purple color. The aroma is strong with berries and something citrusy I cant quite identify. The the taste is quite tart with berries, citrus fruits and honey. The palate is full (as always) and coats the mouth well. Finishes long with lingering tart acidity, and a bit of sticky honey. Overall: impressive. never eaten a gooseberry before. I have no idea what a gooseberry is supposed to taste like, but if this is a good representation--then I'm a fan. This is by far the most tart mead I've tried, something I really appreciate.

Muscat grapes, elderberry notes, floral sweetness, leafy jalapeno fruit. Never had a gooseberry but gotta hunt one down asap. Delish.
