Pours a deep, brown-black, with mid-sized tan head. Aroma is roasted grain, some smoke, a touch of wood. Flavors follow, along with some caramel sweetness, dark fruit. Clean, crisp mouthfeel.

Tap at Mellow. Pours a deep mahogany brown with a small head that dissipates. Lovely smoked malt nose with some caramel, apple and light toasted coconut. Light and easy drinking. Alcohol well hidden. Super smooth with a lot of flavor. Lingering smoked candied apples on the finish with a bit of cacao. --- Beer merged from original tick of Flaming Longship on 03 Jan 2017 at 00:48 - Score: 7

Sampled from the tap at the brewery. Pours a clear deep amber with a gray head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a nice smoked note with a bit of sweet grains and bread underlying. Flavor combines bread and smoke with a bit of sweetness underlying.

Draught at the brewery. Very dark, nearly black. Light smoke in the aroma. Well roasted malt and some sweetness. I especially like the smoke in this beer, and wish there were more of it.
