What you hold in your hand is something uncommon. Once nascent in the silent dark of hand-crafted spirit barrels, this signature artisanal brew has waited, taking on the complex characteristics of its captors.
Now free from constraints, the shroud of darkness lifted, what once was hidden now emerges into light.

750 ml bottle shared at the March DC Tasting. Forgot who brought it, thanks! Poured a dark brown color with light ruby notes, off-white head. Aroma was woody vanilla, caramel, chocolate roasted notes. Some dark fruits. Flavor was smooth whiskey notes, chocolate, dark fruits. Mellowed out a bit.

Bottle [from local swap worldwide edition thanks to nimbleprop] @ weekly tasting shared with Dutchdrebus and Joes. Opaque black color, average to medium sized brown head that -unfortunately- diminishes quite quickly. Aroma is malts, hazelnut, "milk chocolate", slightly roasted malts, a hint of dark chocolate. Taste malts, lightly roast, chocolate, lightly bitter, lightly hazelnut. Smooth texture, soft carbonation, average to medium body.

Bottle @ benzai. Dark brown colour with a dark brown head that doesn’t last. Smells chocolate, raisins, sweet, roasty, deep, slightly alcoholic. Tastes oak, roasty, slightly liquorice, slightly pepper, slightly bourbon. Medium to full body, slightly velvetty, soft carbo.

750 ml bottle shared by a friend in the Illuminati Society. Black with tan head. Aromas of dark fruit, booze, caramel, chocolate, roast. Tastes of whiskey, dark chocolate, dark fruit, syrup. Medium body with a dry finish. Low carbonation. Not as boozy on the taste as you’d expect from the aroma. Pretty nice.

750ml bottle pours an oily, opaque black with a ring of beige head. Nose has some cake icing, vanilla, malt, molasses, some booze, a little paint thinner, bits of Kahlua, a little cinnamon stick too. Flavor has some hot cinnamon, Kahlua, malt, a little cola, wood pulp, some tar and molasses. Oily finish. Carbonation level is solid.
