Brewed as part of Firestone Walker’s collaborative Terroir Project (and the festival we hosted last year), our 2023 version of the collaboration is co-fermented with Pinot Noir grapes grown just up the road at Walnut Ridge Vineyard.

After crushing the grapes the old fashioned way using our feet, we allowed them to ferment naturally with a roughly 49/51 blend of grape sugar to freshly brewed wort following the same recipe as our other Terroir Project collaborators, sourcing yeast solely from the microflora naturally occurring on the grapes’ skin. This blending of our processes and Walnut Ridge’s viticulture results in a unique
snapshot of our place and time.

0.50l bottle, shared with Elvis & Adam. Vinous, musty, funky and farmhouse aroma. Pours cloudy ruby rose color with thin creamy pinkish head and average sparkling appearance. Taste starts faint tart vinous and berry like, following is woody with grape skin note and dry pinot noir finish. Full body, creamy texture and lively carbonation in palate. Not the cheapest nor the best fun…

Poured from 500mL bottle (7.8% abv listed). Brown-ish red with minimal white head. Vinous, background juicy berry, mild tartness. Nose is quite nice, but taste almost seems a bit thin bodied. Still decent.

500ml (thx, Renny!) @ Sales Force. Appearance: purple with some copper notes with a white head. Aroma: rustic notes, lots of Pinot Noir, oak. Taste: along the same lines, semi-dry, tannic, woody. Overall: good one.

Pale red, bright. Not much head. The aroma shows lots of grape and oak. Light body, vinous, a hint of acidity, and a touch of tannin to help round out the finish. Still grape sugars, decent balance.

500mL bottle. Pours murky deep red with pinkish head. Aroma has a ton of musty red wine grapes up front, followed by dry wood. Flavour also has musty red wine grape, burnt wood, dry oak. Tons of red wine tannins, pinot noir grapes. Excellent.

500mL bottle, pours a clear dark pinkish red with a small white head. Aroma is very buggy and vinous, with lots of musty red wine grape skins, plenty of tannins, and charred oak. Flavour is more of the same, with plenty of charred oak, intense tannins, red grape skins, and wild yeast. Excellent cohesion, finishing bone dry, tannic, and vinous. Really great.

500 ml bottle from John, thanks man, 8/13/24. Pours a clear reddish color with a foamy pinkish-white head. Lots of dark fruit, tart yeast flavors, and wood. Definitely getting the red wine grape notes in there. It's got a beer-wine hybrid style to it for sure. This isn't something I'd want to drink all the time, but it is a fun and interesting beer.

Lots of funky grape notes, almost Gamay notes, Pinot noir funk galore. Delish after breathing for a bit.
