Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 20C/33B). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L100219, AROMA: moderate-high roasted aromas with notes of coffee and dark chocolate, in balance with a cask and vinous presence. APPEARANCE: dark black color and opaque. thin light brown head with low retention. leg formation. TASTE: high roasted flavor with notes of coffee and dark chocolate with a faint cask-like note. medium bitterness from hops and roasted grains with an almost dry and roasted finish. plums not very much discernible. PALATE: full body and velvety. gentle alcohol warmth. low carbonation. OVERALL: a nice imperial stout with gentle notes given by the madeira cask but not very much complex.
