Bottled. Deep dark mahogany pour white head. Lots of tropical fruit. Blends into roasted Malty mix. Pretty decent but definitely unique.

Rich dark brown coloured body with a thinnish, single centimetre tall tan head and a slightly clearer brown tint when held up to a light, about 75% opaque. Aroma of roasted coconuts, hazlenuts and peanuts, some mellow malt and a bigger dose of pineapple juice than I expected. Medium-bodied; Assertive roasty flavours at first with a big dose of tropical fruits, but still hard to get past the malts and earthiness; All this ends with a nutty and slightly sweet finish near the end with the malt hitting the hardest. Aftertaste shows a mellow malty flavour with some light tropical fruit flavours and a hint of sweetness, but fairly simple and much less body than I expected. Overall, a decent beer and acceptable for the style, but don’t go out of your way to find this; Add in that I was expecting this to be more of a Foreign Stout, and I’m a tad disappointed. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Fair Lakes (Fairfax), Virginia on 04-February-2016 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington on 24-April-2017. Best by Date on Bottle of 17-June-2016.

Tap at Gambrinus. Pours a pitch black with a finger of beige foam that lingers. Coconut and pineapple forward nose. Chocolate covered mango on the palate. Slightly creamy. Not overly sweet with a nice easy dry cocoa powder finish. Toasted coconut. Easy drinking. --- Beer merged from original tick of Tropical Stout on 22 Nov 2016 at 01:18 - Score: 7. Original review text: Coconut and pineapple forward nose. Chocolate and citrus. Slightly creamy. Not overly sweet. Very nice!

Roast, caramel and some coconut. I don’t get a huge sense of pineapple actually. Black pour with good initial head. Bittersweet finish. Bottle.

12 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 3/3/16. Enjoy by 06.17.16, I like that date. Pours a dark brown / black color with a decently large, frothy, brown color head. Aroma is roast, fruit, and toasted coconut. It is almost more of a berry fruitiness for me than tropical / pineapple, but I guess I can see a bit of that as well. It feels a little brighter than a typcial stout, but not particularly tropical. Fairly sweet, but not cloyingly so. Smooth feel. Really quite unique, I'm sure how well it works to be honest, but I'm glad they tried.

Bot. Dark and dry fer sure. Good rich dark beer impressions, could be a little more behaved. Barely any detectable aroma. Cannot detect any pineapple, this is just a simple good stout. Perhaps a little more alky than a typical stout would have. Yes, dry stout here baby.
A delightfully refreshing stout.

12 ounce bottle. Translucent black color topped by a big rocky tan head. Faint roasted malt nose with a fruity accent. Flavor is roasted malt with more fruity notes. Coconut and pineapple are barely noticeable. Light bodied but flavorful. Slight cocoa notes with a touch of smokiness in finish.

12 oz bottle poured into a Spiegelau tulip. Black with a finger of light tan head. Aromas of big pineapple, light chocolate, subtle roast, a little raw coconut. Tastes of dark chocolate, some pineapple fruit and juice, light roast. Medium body with a dry finish. Pineapple really pops on the aroma, more subtle on the taste but nicely balanced.
