Save the Farmhouse is our annual creation made for the North American Organic Brewers Fest. In 2012 we fermented a portion with a special blend of yeast and organisms and aged it for a year in Oregon Pinot Noir Barrels. After careful blending, the result is a rustic ale with pleasant fruity aromas and funky undertones. The mild acidity on the finish is a refreshing end and should continue to develop over time. Embrace the Funk!

Draft, from notes. Cloudy golden yellow color, medium white head. Aroma of funky, dusty barns and attics. Taste has funky overripe peppery citrus. Tasty.

What the Funk, Denver, October 2014. Pours a golden orange appearance with a tan head. A bit vinous and just a bit tannic / woody. Some pineapple, funk, and tropical fruits. Kind of refreshing. Alright.

Bottle. Pours a cloudy orange with small frothy white head. The aroma is strong funk, yeast, fruit. Thin mouthfeel with nice fruit and light funk and sourness. Very good.

On tap at Saraveza, pours a cloudy golden with a small white head. Aroma of dry pinot noir, dry farmhouse notes, and fruity esters. Flavour is similar, with notes of dry wine notes, funky farmhouse notes, and more dry wine. Super dry and vinous. Very well-balanced, with super dry finish. Excellent.

On tap @ Bailey’s Taproom, Portland, Sixth Anniversary Barrel Aged Fest. Pours hazy golden with a big creamy head. Aroma is sour, with vinegar and white wine. Body is full with very soft carbonation. Flavour is sour with balsamic vinegar, oak barrels and fruit, leaving a tart fruity finish with lots of earthy notes.
