22 oz. bottle with no date coding. Sat in cellar about a year. A near clear amber appearance. Aroma is weak bourbon, weak dark fruit, some toffee. Flavor is a reflection with a hint of oak in the finish. It’s ok.

Bottle courtesy of Robert. Pours tiny hazy deep golden with a small offwhite head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is malty with caramel, toffee, dill, vanilla fudge, charred wood, green chili and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty. Mouthfeel is soft, round, tiny astringent and medium bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with caramel, toffee, bourbon alcohol and minerals. Bit simple and dill-heavy. Fair...

bottle from Boise Co-op, Deep copper color, small soapy head. Big caramel sweetness noticeable right up front. Lots of boozy wooden notes as well. Taste features lots of sugary candy flavors, caramel,, toffee and butterscotch. Whiskey barrel accents the whole palate. Slippery and smooth, mild burn.

22oz bomber pours with a crystal clear deep copper body that supports a thin light tan head. The aroma offers up just sweet smelling bourbon booze with faint caramel and dark fruity esters in the background. The taste is similar as it delivers some sweet malt, sweet dark fruity esters a faint molasses sensation and then a wide load of boozy fairly smooth bourbon. This is just basically bourbon from front to back with little “beer” going on. It would be nice if the beer flavors were better balanced with the heavy handed barrel treatment.

Draught @ Taphouse Grill, Seattle, WA. Pours dark reddish orange with a smooth head. Aroma of bourbon, wood, vanilla, oak and toffee. Taste is smooth, caramely, malty and heavy with bourbon, wood, vanilla, oak and toffee. Finish is smooth, sweetish and oaky with some bourbon, vanilla and toffee. Quite a bourbon overdose.

On tap at McKay's Taphouse, pours a clear dark orange amber with a small white head. Aroma brings out prominent bourbon notes, not much else. Flavour is along the same lines, with lots of bourbon upfront, followed by caramel and even some bitter hop resins. Brutal beer but it's very nice in all its abrasiveness.

Draft - Tons of caramel with a large barrel note. Clear copper with a decent beige head. Sweet and Woody with lots of caramel malt. Finish is a building bitterness and more wood. Nice.

Bomber from Malt & Vine. Pours clear bright copper with a transient beige head. Aroma is warm, firm bourbon vanilla. Med body. Flavor is woody, bourbon, astringent. Heat is detectable. Some barley would have been a good idea for texture. Good stuff tho.
