Imperial Stout aged 23 months in bourbon barrels w/ toasted almonds, coconut, & vanilla beans.

In celebration of this year’s batch of Happy Almonds taking bronze at the World Beer Cup and gold at the Brewers Cup of CA, we decided to roll out a barrel aged version! For the base blend we selected two Willett Family Reserve 11 year, a Buffalo trace 8 year, and an Eagle Rare 10 year barrel. Together these boasted an incredible spirit character with rich undertones of dark chocolate. The beer was finished on freshly toasted California almonds, raw coconut flakes, and vanilla beans from Vera Cruz, Madagascar, and Brazil. Decadent adjuncts atop an already rich and complex base leave this beer absolutely packed with flavor; there’s a reason it’s one of our favorites!
