500 ml bottle into tulip glass; 2013 batch year, bottled on 9/16/2015. Pours clear very dark brown color with a 1-2 finger fairly dense and fluffy kahki head with good retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Light spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of big sour cherry, cranberry, raisin, plum, red grape, green apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, clove, oak, light pumpkin, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light roast, hay, straw, leather, musty funk, light vanilla, light red wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, spices, dark/bready malt, and moderate oak barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of big sour cherry, cranberry, raisin, plum, red grape, green apple, cinnamon, nutmeg, pepper, clove, oak, light pumpkin, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, light roast, hay, straw, leather, musty funk, light vanilla, light red wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Moderate fruity/tannic tartness and yeast spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of sour/dark fruits, spices, caramel, brown sugar, toasted bread, leather, hay, straw, musty funk, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/funky/acidic yeast, spices, dark/bready malt, and moderate oak barrel flavors; with a great malt/tart/spiciness balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-moderate dryness from acidity/yeast spiciness, that increases through the glass. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately acidic/tannic, lightly grainy/bready, and sticky/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is nice. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warmth lingering after the finish. Overall this is a fantastic spiced Flanders brown ale! All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance fruity/funky/acidic yeast, spices, dark/bready malt, and moderate oak barrel flavors;and very smooth and easy to drink with the moderate acidity. A highly enjoyable offering. Insane amounts of complexity going on, but never feels unbalanced.

Bottle bought in Phoenix. Hotel tasting in Anchorage, post earthquake. Deep maroon color, beige head, solid lacing. Nice aroma of sweet and sour plums. Taste has sweet plums, sour prunes, light tannins. Maybe a hint of spice. Delicious.
