This year, when we picked up our annual haul of Sartori Centennial, we threw a few extra bags in the back of the rental van. At 8pm after a 14 hour day, when Blake pulled up to the brewery laden with the goods, he stayed on. We mashed in this baby brew immediately and cooled it into the fermenter at 1 am. Our first of hopefully many more fresh hop pilots to come. Sartori Ranches Centennial enlivens this West Coast Pils. A lager with classic roots and contemporary West Coast dryhopping. Low bitterness, clean, and fruity. Unique in its soft, resinous bitterness which can only be imparted by fresh and unkilned hop cones. At times piney, lightly grassy, and even soapy. We wanted the aroma to be vibrant and layered with juicy notes, yet somewhat subdued so as not to overpower the gentle lager yeast esters and malt notes.

Bright, gold, big head. Nice bitterness, clean pale malt. That’s good, appetizing pilsner.

On tap at The Magnet. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Plenty of brint, vibrant pine and a touch of dry spicy grass on the nose. Flavour has dry spicy grass, sharp, resinous pine, and cracker malts. Great hop expression.
