Aroma: roasty, green peppers, some American oak.
Taste: along the same lines, moderately to highly thick, smooth, noticeable toasted barrel.
Overall: except green pepper aspect, it's nice.

Dark brown. No head. Lots of coffee on the nose. On the palate, the coffee is rich, the underlying stout is nice, maybe a touch nutty from the roast. A fair bit of alcohol in the finish. For this much coffee, it's pretty well-balanced.

22 oz. bottle, pours jet black with a small tan head. Aroma is rich, with big coffee, bourbon barrels, dark sugars, and some dark cocoa. Flavour is very rich, with deep dark cocoa, coffee, big bourbon barrels, some booze, finishing with dark chocolate, rich coffee and bourbon in equal measures. Rich, silky, sophisticated; that coffee is worked in beautifully, and I can’t shake that dark chocolate character. Lovely.

650mL bottle. Pours very dark brown with a small tan head. Nutty coffee, bourbon barrels, and a chocolately malt on the nose. Flavour has tons of coffee and a really chocolatey malt character, great combination of the two. Bourbon barrels round it out very nicely; a touch of boozy warmth on the finish. Great stuff.

On tap at Payettes second annual final Black Friday dark beer event. Black pour with a dark tan ring of fine bubbles. Smooth sweet dark coffee and dark chocolate aromas and flavors. Nicely balanced big but not obnoxious.

Bomber - pours a viscous jet black - headless - nose is full of oaky bourbon, light umami, espresso, jammy red wine - slick mouthfeel, full body - warming, but not boozy - very well-makes alcohol - deeply oaky, with rich whiskey in the background under umami and dark chocolate black malt richness - whiskey comes to the fore in the finish, along with some tannic jammy red raspberry - it’s damn balanced and refined for a beer of this strength.
