Tap at the tasting room. Purs darkly ruddy. Aroma is oaty/malty. Med body. Flavor is toffee, oats, and just a tad spicy. Not very, but detectable. Not too sweet, and not bitter.

on draft at the brew pub it is a dark Amber color with a slight head. The aroma is caramel and the taste is malty with a hint of coriander.

On draft at the brewery. Pours a clear dark amber with an ecru head. Malty nose. Flavors of caramel and toffee. Slightly sweet finish.

Draft at the source. Hazy reddish amber color. Aroma of burnt caramel. Taste is toasted caramel, black pepper. Tasty.

Draft: Poured a black brown with tan head. Light nose but taste was bold rugged malts a little smoke. There was an astringent offness in finish, but I hope they dial this in because it has great potential.
