Can (10/27/25) from Lighthouse Wine & Spirits, Beverly. Opaque black, thin head with fair retention, light lacing. Aroma is tons of molasses, earthy roast, minimal dark fruit. Taste follows aroma but less fruit. Smooth, frothy, moderately thick texture, full bodied, average carbonation and finish as taste. Rich molasses aroma and flavor with earthy roast avoids over sweetness often in imperial stouts.

Brewery draught, 11/12/25, as pictured.
Vanilla and chocolate with low roast. No alcohol, low fruitiness.
Fruity up front with milk chocolate, earth and light roast. Chewy texture with no syrup but also retaining a comforting malt sweetness that this older RIS style often lacks. Bit of vanilla and raisin like character further adds levity and complexity. Great, more contemporary take on an old style.
