It is a fact that Dan, our New Glarus Brewmaster, loves pumpkin pie. So it was inevitable that one day beer and pie would collide. No holiday is complete at our home without home baked pumpkin pie. Just as Dan once baked this pie for Deb, he now creates this brew for you.

First, Wisconsin grown wheat simmers with fresh Wisconsin Pumpkin and German Munich Malt. Then he thoroughly stirs in Idaho grown Celeia Hops. Fresh Bavarian Weizen yeast is then ladled into the open top fermentors and a final bottle conditioning makes this beer 100% naturally carbonated. This rich brown Weisse beer pours an elegant spicy nose with a thick creamy head. This Pumpkin Weisse is sure to satisfy your soul’s Pie Lust.

Cheers!

Bottle with thanks to jimmy. Pours hazy burnt umber, small tan head, dissipates quickly, some lacing. Aroma is pp spices, nutmeg, allspice, clove. Flavor is light sweet, very light bitter, not as spiced as aroma suggests, but still pretty out there. Some pumpkin flesh. Some astringent. Medium body, high carbonation.

Bottle @ home, via trade. Pours a kind of murky orangish brown appearance with a creamy light brown head. Spicy mint, clove, vanilla in the aroma with some caramel and cream. Medium body. Fairly low sweetness. Moderate bitterness. Flavor is a little doughy, some pumpkin, light spice, clove, and mild cinnamon. Pretty mild pumpkin beer which is nice but the flavor is also a little dull. Clean enough. Hopefully, I’ll get to try another bottle.

12oz bottle. Filtered amber-brown body. Big fluffy off-white head. Pumpkin pie spice aroma..cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice. The wheat tones give it a little different feel but overall this is a pretty average pumpkin ale. Happy to have tried it, but I don’t really see myself going back for a second sixpack of it. OK.
