This barrel aged barleywine was crafted with a blend of Steffi Pilsner, tritacle munich, marris otter & other select specialty malts. In a process of collecting the sweet & sticky first runnings from two separate heavily loaded mashes and boiling all day for peak flavor and body. This viscous and caramelized beer was then aged in freshly dumped select delbac whiskey barrels. Leaving this barleywine boasting with butterscotch candies, vanilla, whiskey soaked dark berry & plum jam, finishing with subtle oak and caramelized honey. Come step into the veil.

Pint crowler pours with a somewhat murky mahogany colored body that supports a thin ring of tan bubbles. The aroma offers up brown sugar stewed plums, a bit of dates, a sense of maltiness and then warming whiskey and booziness at the end of the draw. The taste delivers full slick sweet richness where the beer and barrel treatment are balanced and tasty. I get sweet slick prunes and dates as well as reduced molasses to brown sugar like sugars to midway. Then the smooth whiskey treatment joins in along with the big ABV to help counter the rich slick sweetness that has been achieved. This is a terrific sipper.

Draft.

A- Mahogany brown color, dark liquid, beige head.

A- Raisins, butterscotch, plum, whisky.

F- Raisins, caramel bread, brown sugar, whisky, vanilla, slightly sweet.

P- Full body, average texture, average carbonation, slightly boozy finish.

O- Saw this on Tavour and since I was in Phoenix the next day passed on the bottle and went to visit instead. Had three beers here the other two which were mediocre, but this was absolutely worth the quick detour to visit. Outstanding beer even for the style. Complex, balanced, so good. Now I wish I would've bought a bottle or at least had another pour. Nice stuff.
