Traditional Bock

Mór Bier is a beer born from friendship, and a love of tradition, flavour and fermentation. A collaboration between Wicklow Wolf and @gubbeen Farmhouse, this 6.0% Bock is a nod to tradition and taste, the key values behind Gubbeen.

This is a beer rooted in connection. Gubbeen, based in Schull, West Cork, is renowned not just for its farmhouse cheeses and cured meats, but also for the craftsmanship of @fingalferguson and his hand-forged knives made in the farm workshop. A long-time friend of Wicklow Wolf, Fingal has shared many a sauna and pints with our co-founder Simon – and it’s from these moments that this collaboration was born.

Can at home. Clear amber with small white head. Toffee, crisp malts, raisins, a bit of orange, light spices, a bit of ontbijkkoek. Medium sweet, less bitter. Crisp medium bodied. Not super outspoken, but that's the way I like my bock beers. Quite nice!

13/IX/25 - on tap @ BBP Wanderlust Beer Festival (Brussels), BB: n/a (2025-895) Thanks to Sara, Dalys, Bjorn and Laurence for sharing today’s beers!

Clear orange amber beer, small creamy off-white head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: malty, grains, hay, barnyard, cow fodder. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: nice, tastes like a solid German-style bock, clean malts, some caramel, gentle bitterness, grains, hay. Aftertaste: a hoppy touch, very malty, grains, hay, very decent bock, I like it!
