Sour Ale Aged On Cherries
The time-honored Belgian tradition of aging and blending fruit beers is lovingly expressed in this lively creation, named for legendary brewmaster Rosa Merckx of Liefmans, our sister blendery in Belgium where this beer is crafted.
A charming combination of Oud Bruin, a tart Flemish brown ale, and Cuvee Brut, a cheerful cherry beer, Rosetta offers elegance, depth, complexity and an intriguing interplay of tartness and sweetness.
As of April 2020, Rosetta is available in four-packs of 12 ounce cans.

Bottle. Brown color in the glass. Aroma has yeast and cherry. Balanced flavor, lots of cherry and wild yeast that brings it up to the edge of being sour, but it doesn’t quite get there. Good fruit flavor, and the yeast makes it interesting.

Bottle share. Brown amber in color with a small tan head. Sweet aroma of cherries, carries through to the taste. Mostly sweet cherry fruit in the taste, but a little tart too.

11.2oz bottle thanks Toby. Pours out a clear brownish hue, surprising as I was expecting some a bit more red. Small beige head. Typical kriek aromas, more candy sweet than natural fruit. Taste follows the same pattern. About the norm, middle of the range for the style.

At SAVOR 2016. Poured an amber color with a small foamy head. Aroma was tart cherry skins, light swet malt. Very mild herbal hop notes, but mostly a cherry, funky character to it with a touch of sour on the finish.

Tap into a snifter showing lightly filtered caramel brown with sparse white foam. The nose shows a lot of tart cherries. The palate is light bodied and well carbonated. Moderately sweet bing cherries with light tartness and light astringency.
