Sour Ale Aged On Cherries
The time-honored Belgian tradition of aging and blending fruit beers is lovingly expressed in this lively creation, named for legendary brewmaster Rosa Merckx of Liefmans, our sister blendery in Belgium where this beer is crafted.
A charming combination of Oud Bruin, a tart Flemish brown ale, and Cuvee Brut, a cheerful cherry beer, Rosetta offers elegance, depth, complexity and an intriguing interplay of tartness and sweetness.
As of April 2020, Rosetta is available in four-packs of 12 ounce cans.

Sampled on draft this beer poured a dark brown color with orange highlights and a small foamy beige head that left good lacing. The aroma was woody, malty and had a bit of tart cherry. The flavor was tart, bitter and sour cherry with a hint of vinegar, wood, and malty undertone. Long finish. Medium body but a bit flat. Interesting.

33cl bottle pours a clear copper with some cloudy, white head. Nose has cherry and malt, light cough syrup, light candy. Flavor follows, sweet and tart, cherry, malt, raisin. Finishes tart and a touch oily. Finish ruins this a little.

Great cherry and some bretta. Nicely done kriek. Pours pink with ok head and lacing. Had last drop of this literally at tasting. Sweet and sour finish. Bottle shared at tasting. Wonderful.

Bot. Dark & murky. A very intriguing beer from the start. First I thought this would have that old omy yeast background then I was pleasantly surprised to see its from liefmans. Nice friendly cutting co2. Good old country liefy feel to this and I like it. Yes, more like a Flemish sour than a fruit beer. Yummy. Glad I picked this one up. It’s probably a knock off of one of liefman’s already made brews. Good stuff. Not bad for three bucks.

Sample at the Beer Tasting on 11/07/2015. Dark reddish-brown color with a medium foamy of-white head that dissipates quickly to a film. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit, yeast and malt. Light-bodied with flavors of cherries, doughy malt and yeast. The finish is fruity with a mildly tart cherry aftertaste. Pretty good overall.
