From tap. Pours hazy orange with a small white head. Aroma is toasted malty. Caramelish and medium dry breadish. Bitter and toasted malty. Dry and toasted far finish, slight herbal bitterness lurking through.

Smoke and lots of caramelized malt. Amber pour with great head and lacing. Lots of oak - too much for my liking. Tangy and sweet finish with lots of astringency. Tap at whole foods.

Birch and Barley, DC tap: glad I only got the four ounce pour of this jawn. I do not think I could have handled much more. Herbal, boozy, soapy, potato, with a strong kick. Why. Me not friend.

Clear darker pale ale like a yeengy. Creamy head. Sweet mild perfume aroma. strong cloying alky first impressions. Wew. Alky rises up and kicks you in the palate. Not warming but it is volatile fer sure. Becomes difficult and must be aged. Hard to swallow at times. Not sure about this stuff. Syrupy medicine. Mouth coating cloying experience. Cannot appreciate. Nice smell is nothing like what follows.

Poured up on tap at the Mesa AZ Brass Tap where it exhibits a near clear copper body that has thin golden edges and supports a thin light tan head. It’s served up a little too cold. Starting with the taste I get a rush of sweet estery dark fruitiness and bitter to resiny pine hops and some citrus. The esters are largely cherry, prunes, a dash of dates and then raisins. These notes all flow quickly into a bath of pine sap like hop resiny bitterness. To midway and into the finish a modest citrus hop note surfaces and really doesn’t add or subtract from the experience. This is not coming together. I wonder if a bit of age would help. This isn’t too bad but it lacks some harmony. Ok. The aroma offers up pine hops and grapefruit followed by light cherry and prune fruity esters notes.

375 ml bottle with a bottle date 1/13/2015. Hazy Amber color with very light head. Aroma is light oak, light caramel, fruit and cherry. The flavor is slightly medicinal with a syrupy texture. The English malt is here as well with a dirty malt character. Meh.

dark orange, 2 finger dark yellow head. aroma is nice, smells bitter, citrus forward. good creamy mouthfeel. I get corn and peat malts. intense bitterness and is pretty syrupy. very earthy but the syrup is just hard to deal with. not even sure this could improve with age.
