Drinkt makkelijk weg, best goed.

Huge yellow-cream head, stable over clear copper-amber beer. Caramel, leafy, herbs, undergrowth, even a bit earthy. Dry, leafy. Some coloured malts, even caramel, but hardly any sweetness, however a light impression of sourishness. Bitter is a bit like conifer, rather than hoppy. Very light body, watery feel. Feels very carbonated, which is a boon seen the meagre body. Not too sweet. For the rest, average.

Bottle at home, from Hema. Hazy tea brown amber with offwhite head. Sweet malts, caramel, sugarcane, grassy and light oniony and doughy yeasty notes. Soft dried fruit notes, dates. Bit of sour/sourdoughy rough finish to the sweetness. Moderate sweet and light bitter. Medium body, malty feel, soft carbonation. Aftertaste is leathery dry and oniony, not very pleasant.

Bottle at home. Almost clear amber with beige head. Looks decent. Quite malty up front with caramel, ’stroopsoldaatjes’, fresh brown bread, some dust, dried figs, light apple, bitter herbs. It’s quite OK but the finish is slightly metallic and chemical herbal. Medium sweet and bitter. Medium bodied. Not really my thing, it’s bland and the bitterness seems a bit off.

33cl bottle from a trade with Douberd, thanks! Pours hazy deep amber colour with a huge good lasting off-white head. Aroma of toasted malt, red malt, some fruity bitter hops. Taste of mild bitter resinous hops, spruce, red malt, caramel, good one!

Bottle from the brewery, BB March 2017, large sample. Slight hazy amber color, short lasting frothy head. Aroma of caramel, slight spicy, hint of clove and cinnamon, bit earthy hop. Bit sweet in taste, spicy, speculaas, bitter from spices and a touch of special B like malt. Quite dry in the finish. Spicy belgian amber.

Sampled draft @ the brewery. Deep red amber, off-white head. Nose is sweetish soapy weeds, sugar & paper malts. Taste is sweetish soap, sugar, papery malts, sweet fruits, something faint almost a touch sour. Body is soapy, paper. Something slightly odd, least favorite of the 5 beers sampled there.
