  Kölsch Spring
Score
7.49
ABV: 4.9% IBU: - Ticks: 23
Originally brewed as our hoppy welcome to Spring after the long, dark months of winter, this low ABV, kölsch inspired ale is cool fermented and dosed with Nelson Sauvin. Lower fermentation temperature slows the yeast's metabolism and provides balance by gently subduing super-fruity esters and spicy phenols. Sprang is refreshingly light bodied with aromatics of earthy evergreen, passion fruit, and faint doughy malt. Flavors of concord grape, mango, and herbaceous white wine interweave with cracker-crisp, pilsner malt character and minimal bitterness. The finish is dry with a lasting touch of grain.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to becher glass.
Appearance: pale yellow to orange cardboard cloudiness with a finger and a quarter of white foamy head which dissipated fairly quick and left a very light amount of lace
Aroma: some white grapes, mixed citrusy hops and light cereal/grainy-ness
Flavor: seems to do well when it intertwines the prior noted aromas to a fair bittersweet juicy quality; finishes slightly with the white grapes and sweet grainy-ness
Texture: light bodied, sessionable; some smoothness but also a good deal of dryness running over the tongue
Overall: uhhhhmmmm, pretty odd for a Kolsch, though I think I somewhat liked this but true Kolsch fans you might want to steer away from this or take it with a grain of salt when trying this. Maybe think outside of the box, I guess.

Lilly, scallion nose, not strong. Hazy golden, thin head. Honeysuckle, lemon. Medium body, moderate carbonation. New England style kolsch? I like it, but I'm not sure if kolsch bois will.

Tap @ Trillium, Canton. Hazed golden yellow pour, small white head. Great haze once the initial eggy sulphur dies down. Quite juicy.

Pours a hazy pale straw from a can, white head with minimal lacing. Aroma is gym socks and melon. Flavor is similar, a little thin, bitter finish. Good beer.

16-05-17 // 500ml can at home, shared, bought at Trillium Boston by a friend. Very hazy light yellowish beer, almost no head. Nothing in common with a german Kölsch but I dont care its a great refreshing beer. Light bodied, some straw and hay, pale malts, mild grains. Mild grape, some fruits, even wineous notes. Minimal bitter finish. Great.
